about

The first mixtape in the Duttplate series. This plate features the first two tracks from the Dubspider sessions at Crownhill Studios in January of 2013. Both tracks were written on the spot and dubbed live to 1/4 inch tape by Japton Khan.

Burrito Thief is making their debut as a musical force to be reckoned with in the underground dub scene that is developing in Nashville. The first track, "Apocalypse Dub", was recorded during a late night, anger-fueled session with Horace Machiavelli (Bass/Guitar/Keyboards) and Carlos Sandoval (Drums/Guitar). "The Acid Death Drop!" was written about the death of an extremely distant acquaintance who fell off a roof during a cutty LSD trip on New Years Eve. Both songs were dubbed by Japton Khan and are still in their raw form. These tracks will be finalized and released through Dub Cellar Records on Burito Thief's debut album, "What is This Dust?", late summer 2014.

The Roots of a Rebellion dubs are from the first session at Track One Studio B (Last Wave Productions), which was opened in February 2014. Both tracks were dubbed by Japton Khan. "Trapp Dubb Ultra Dub" was dubbed exclusively through a Korg Monotron Delay in only one take.
